Did A U.F.O. Abduct Their HOUSE and Kidnap THEM? If Not, WHO Did? By Bill Knell I was born in New York City and grew up in a suburban Long Island town a short ride away. I was not interested in camping and had no desire to go out into the forest where I might face feral dogs, bears, bugs, poison ivy and other wonders of the wooded world. I liked that most everything I needed or wanted was just a short walk or drive from my house and my parents felt the same way. The only outdoorsy stuff I liked was archery and shooting which I got into by the age of 9. I could practice both of those hobbies within a few minutes of my house without venturing out into the wilderness. My two slightly older cousins, Erica and Jason, also had negative feelings about camping, but were overruled and dragged out on short trips by their folks each summer.
