Did A U.F.O. Abduct Their HOUSE and Kidnap THEM? If Not, WHO Did?

Did A U.F.O. Abduct Their HOUSE and Kidnap THEM? If Not, WHO Did?

I was born in New York City and grew up in a suburban Long Island town a short ride away. I was not interested in camping and had no desire to go out into the forest where I might face feral dogs, bears, bugs, poison ivy and other wonders of the wooded world. I liked that most everything I needed or wanted was just a short walk or drive from my house and my parents felt the same way. The only outdoorsy stuff I liked was archery and shooting which I got into by the age of 9. I could practice both of those hobbies within a few minutes of my house without venturing out into the wilderness.

My two slightly older cousins, Erica and Jason, also had negative feelings about camping, but were overruled and dragged out on short trips by their folks each summer. They lived in New York City and their parents thought that getting out of the wilds of the Bronx and into the forests of upstate New York would somehow benefit them. Their folks also believed they had a connection to the outdoors because they lived near and enjoyed visiting the Bronx Zoo. Anyone who lived within a few miles of it also enjoyed it, but most had no desire to confront wild animals in their own unrestrained environment. Those kind of parents were city people trying to temporarily get back to nature and live less urban lives.

My biggest hobby was my interest in UFOs and the unexplained. I not only read about them, but I sought out local incidents to investigate and write about in my neighborhood newsletter. Once I opened the lid on looking for unexplained things to write about, I found tons of stuff because Long Island, NY,  is that kind of place. Among all the UFO and unexplained happenings, I accidently discovered a case right in my own neighborhood, and it was beyond weird and terrifying.

There was an older couple named the Monsesses who lived two houses down, on the other side of my street. Both were long retired and probably in their late 60s when my friend Johnny and I were tweens in 1970. We cleaned out their garage one time and did other odd jobs for them as good neighbors. Each time we did they gave us some really good homemade ice cream sundaes as rewards. Just what two 12 year old boys needed on a warm summer day.

After we finished cleaning the garage I asked Mr Monsesses about a weird looking thing he had in the trash pile. It looked like a brand new metal tool box the size of a medium suitcase, but was very light. I was going to open it for a closer look until I saw it had a weird lock of some sort on it. Instead, I asked Mister Monsesses about it. I was worried that it might have been something valuable he accidentally placed on the trash pile. He said that a mistake was made and grabbed it off the pile. He took it in the kitchen and talked loudly to his wife in a language I did not recognise. Both were upset and closed the kitchen door.

The next day I was walking home from another friend's house who lived behind mine. It was lunchtime and my mom called out for me. On the very short walk home the air suddenly felt heavy and it got really quiet. I didn't think much about it at the time. After I had lunch I went to watch TV. To do that I had to walk past our large living room window. It made me feel weird when I looked out towards the Monsesses house. Something was different, but I wasn't sure what?

Years later, after we all moved elsewhere, a thought popped into my mind about the Monsesses. I was visiting with my parents who had retired to Florida. Out of nowhere I asked if my folks thought the Monsesses were still around? At one time my parents had thought about buying their home as an investment property after the couple passed on. Mom had no idea what I was talking about, and Dad looked equally puzzled? Neither had any memory of the couple. I asked my mom to drag out all of her old photo albums. There were photos of me, my family and all our friends, but no photos of them or their house. Instead, there was a house that had different colors and a small construction trailer where their car had been. They had planned on having some work done on their house and property. The couple stopped driving and sold their car just a few months after we moved into their neighborhood.

After doing some amateur detective work I discovered that a young family from Germany moved into the Monsesses house right after it had finished being built in 1958. I knew the family, but In my version of reality they lived at the other end of the block and had a five year old boy who was still learning English. The Monsesses house i knew was said to be empty due to some problem with the septic tank which still hadn't been resolved. It all made my head hurt!

On the weekend that my parents closed our house sale weI flew back to NY and stayed at a nearby hotel. I hadn't been back for a while, so I stopped to see a few friends. During that time I saw the German family and we all said hello. I had gotten to know Hans (their five year old boy) very well, and was sometimes his babysitter. On that occasion he wanted to come along with me. While my parents waited for the Realtor and the others needed to finish the paperwork to complete our house sale, I took Hans for a walk around the block.

As we walked past my house and the Monsesses house he said in broken English that he “missed our houses”. That was weird because in that reality he had never lived there. Things got even stranger when he asked if I knew what happened to his “der kasten” (his box)? I assumed he was talking about the odd box in the Monsesses reality. When I described it to him he confirmed my assumption! At that point nothing made any sense and everything played out in a completely different direction.

After my parent's meeting about the house, my Aunt and Uncle came to pick us up and drive us to their place where we were going to have dinner. They had just returned with my cousins from their latest camping adventure and were excited to tell us all about it. Among other things, a black bear had chosen to frighten my cousin Erik when he went to use the public rest room in the middle of the night. On his way back to their tent, Erik saw a weird orange ball of light type of UFO darting in and out of the trees. It dpun around twice, the dissapeered. My other cousin, Ingrid, kept having weird dreams about a box. When she described and drew it for me it looked just like the one I saw in the Monsesses house. That's all the information she had about it.

It was late so those topics would have to wait until morning. We all went to sleep. The next day I woke up dizzy. No one else felt that way. I went out for a walk. Nothing had changed. The Monsesses were still gone and that is a mystery I feel may never be solved. They didn't talk much, but I got the impression that both had been involved in secret government work somewhere on Long Island or nearby. I'm almost certain they had been part of the Montauk Project (Philadelphia Experiment). Ingrid had no further information or dreams. All the people that i come across seem to have bizarre occurrences, but I don't. The good news is that given all i investigate from them, I don't scare easily.
