The SATAN Tree: Florida's KILLER PLANT That YOU CAN'T FIND or KILL

The SATAN Tree: Florida's KILLER PLANT That YOU CAN'T FIND or KILL An Orange Tree Florida has all sorts of unsolved mysteries and creepy folklaw, but the SATAN Tree has got to be right up there with the Bermuda Triangle. Why? Because you can't exactly find it, kill it or solve the pernicious perennial plant's mystery! I was born in New York City and lived there until I became a teenager. We had lots of strange places and unexplained phenomena, however, as soon as I moved to St Petersburg, Florida, I found a whole new kind of weirdness. They had UFOs, ghosts and more just like us, but it seemed that they also had a bunch of cool folklore like the Skunk Ape (Bigfoot), the Fountain of Youth, haunted Theme Park rides, the 1951 Mary Reeser spontaneous combustion case, and the Satan Tree and I wanted to know all about those. The Satan Tree is allegedly surrounded by some other trees of the same type with dead limbs making it difficult to spot. Some point it to being an old or...

What is the REAL Witching Hour?

Image
What is the REAL Witching Hour? by Bill Knell I can't tell you how many times people have asked me about the “Witching Hour”. Most assumed it was between 12am-1am. That's logical enough because it is the time when one day ends and another begins on many time keeping devices and systems. However, we are not talking about conventional or linear time. Those subjects don't actually fit into the equation.  12am-1am became the popular choice because people who lived in the days before electricity and nighttime live or electronic entertainment tended to wake up confused  between those hours because they had an untreated sleep disorder. If your REM sleep cycle was interrupted you might have trouble falling back to sleep. Edgar Allen Poe immortalised that time of night at the beginning of his poem ‘The Raven’. “Once upon a MIDNIGHT dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary…” The real witching hour is likely 3am. Why? Because Christian tradition and Jewish time keeping says that Jesus...

The Amazing Story Of The WESTCHESTER WING UFO Sightings

The Amazing Story Of The WESTCHESTER WING UFO Sightings by Bill Knell Beginning in 1982 thousands of witnesses observed a silent, wing shaped UFO flying at low altitudes across the downstate area of the Hudson Valley which stretches from Albany down to Yonkers in New York State. A few also happened in nearby Connecticut. Most of the sightings occurred in Westchester County, just north of New York City, leading to the object being nick-named the “Westchester Wing”.  It all began a few minutes before midnight on New Year’s Eve in 1982. A retired New York City police officer and his son stepped outside their house into the backyard and saw a bright array of lights above a nearby treeline. A V-shaped, huge object came into view moving towards them at a very slow speed. It was just a few hundred feet above their heads. The thing made no noise and had no obvious method of propulsion. It had a bright white light which shined down from its center and red, blue and green lights along its si...
