Paris Jackson's Life Today
Paris Jackson's Life Today
by Bill Knell
Dermatology nurse Debbie Rowe married Michael Jackson in 1996. The couple had three children: daughter Paris (1998) and sons Prince (1997) and Bigi (2002). One could argue that all had a big life to exit from after Michael Jackson's tragic death. For years his children lived under a spotlight unlike almost anyone else in the world. Growing up as the female child of one of the most famous entertainers in history meant that public curiosity followed Paris everywhere.
While countless stories, rumors, and opinions surrounded the Jackson family and many still do, Paris often chose to remain quiet. Recently, however, she decided to speak more openly about her memories, offering a rare glimpse into life behind the headlines and revealing experiences that shaped her life after childhood.
According to her reflections, life with her father was far different from what many people imagined. Behind the global fame and sold-out performances was a parent who tried to teach important lessons about gratitude, kindness, and understanding the value of hard work. She explained that despite his enormous success, Michel wanted his children to appreciate the realities of life and understand that privilege should never be taken for granted. Those lessons remained with her long after she grew up.
Paris also described how difficult it was to be a child while constantly attracting public attention. Every appearance, decision and personal milestone seemed to become a topic of discussion. Living under that level of scrutiny created challenges that most people never experience. At times she struggled to separate her own identity from the expectations and assumptions that followed her because of her famous last name. Finding her own path became one of the most important journeys of her life.
As she matured, Paris focused on building a life that reflected her own interests and passions. Rather than trying to recreate her father’s legacy, she worked to establish herself as an individual with her own voice. Through music, modeling, and personal projects, Paris gradually stepped out of her father's shadow. While comparisons were unavoidable, she remained determined to define success on her own terms.
Although she has not written a book, her willingness to share personal memories through interviews has given many people a deeper understanding of the human side of a family often surrounded by controversy, mystery and speculation. Her comments were not about fame or controversy. They were about the lessons, challenges and experiences that helped shape who she became. In doing so, she reminded people that behind every legendary public figure is a family with stories that are often far more personal than the world realizes. Paris Jackson recently shared that she is embracing privacy when it comes to the personal situations in her family. Regarding her late father, she stated her bond with him is "the most beautiful relationship" and she no longer feels pressured to share performative tributes to him or justify people's adoration of him as the “King of Pop”.
Paris Jackson shares a remarkably close and supportive bond with her brothers, Prince and Bigi (formerly "Blanket"). Often describing themselves as two halves of the same soul, Paris and Prince in particular are virtually inseparable, sharing matching yin-yang tattoos and constantly collaborating on and promoting each other’s creative endeavors.
The Jackson siblings have an unbreakable bond forged by their shared, highly publicized childhood and the passing of their father. As the older brother (by just 14 months), Prince acts as her closest confidant, business partner, and biggest supporter. Paris frequently refers to him as her "twin" and her "hero," while Prince has publicly supported her music career and her advocacy work. Bigi (Blanket) generally maintains a lower profile, but all three siblings share an aligned, tight-knit front. They often attend high-profile events and red carpets together, such as opening nights for the Broadway-style production “MJ: The Musical”.
The trio frequently uses their platform to keep their father's legacy alive while pursuing their own individual paths. Whether it is giving interviews or stepping out together for family projects, Paris, Prince, and Bigi operate as a unified front when it comes to honoring their father's impact. Michael's amazing talent and wonderful parenting skills stand on their own.
Additionally, she has celebrated achieving her sobriety milestones, noting that recovery taught her to "navigate life on life's terms". She has been open about her past battles with drug addiction, self-harm, and early suicide attempts. After checking into a rehabilitation program, she has marked several years of sobriety, stating that getting clean gave her a "better" life.
Regarding her relationship with her father, Paris emphasized that she prefers to keep her private memories of her father to herself rather than making them public, finding peace and freedom in doing so. With that in mind, Paris distanced herself from the 2025 biographical film, “Michael”, noting she offered notes on aspects of an early script she found "dishonest," and later described the project as sugar-coated and pandering.
All things considered, she has weathered some awful storms and came through them as a better person. Her relationship with her brothers has helped. Paris Jackson shares a remarkably close and supportive bond with her brothers Prince and Bigi (formerly "Blanket"). Often describing themselves as two halves of the same soul, Paris and Prince in particular are virtually inseparable, sharing matching yin-yang tattoos and constantly collaborating on and promoting each other’s creative endeavors.
