The Pan-Am Flight 914 MEGA-MYSTERY Involves UFOs, Missing Time, Ghosts, Time Travel, Unsolved Disappearances, Men in Black, the Bermuda Triangle, Animal Mutilations and practically everything else is found in this paranormal tale. If it could be proven that Bigfoot or some other cryptid was witnessed hiding somewhere on or off the plane, then we would have it all.

Pam Am 914 was a commercial passenger flight that took off from Idlewild (JFK) Airport, New York City, NY, on July 2, 1955 bound for a three hour flight to Miami, Florida in good weather. It had 57 passengers and four crew members. The aircraft vanished sometime after entering the Bermuda Triangle section near Miami

(perhaps coincidentally, Miami was also the corporate headquarters of PAN AM), only to reappear decades later in Caracas, Venezuela, on March 9, 1985, with its passengers and crew intact, but unaware of and without explanation for the time jump.

The Douglas DC-4 prop plane landed without incident despite using out of date technology and call signs. Airport control tower personnel were surprised when military police and several unidentified men dressed in black suits and hats arrived at the airport just after the aircraft first appeared requesting permission to land. A local official appeared with them ordering the airport personnel to give them permission to land.

Airport workers were also surprised when federal police and others dressed in black suits arrived at the airport just minutes after the flight appeared. They later reported that several people wearing lab coats, two men in black and more federal police boarded the plane. The passengers were eventually dePlaned and nobody knew what happened to them at that time other than the fact that they were escorted to an unused part of the airport terminal by the federal police. The aircraft remained in the same spot where it landed while being carefully examined, cleaned and refueled. Only emergency landing crews were permitted during access to them at that time.

The tale of Pan Am Flight 914 is a famous unsolved mystery that sounds like a Twilight Zone episode. It should since the original TZ and its host (Rod Serling 1924-1975) covered several real and imagined aircraft mysteries in episodes during its five year run.

The most famous was "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet," in which guest star William Shatner sees a gremlin on an aircraft wing while it was in flight trying to crash the plane. "The Arrival" is about a ghost plane landing with no one aboard, inspired by the real "Lady Be Good" story which was about a World War II B-24D Liberator bomber that vanished over North Africa in 1943, only to be found remarkably preserved with no one on board in the Libyan Desert 15 years later.

During the approach of Flight 914 a number of “strange lights” were seen in and around Caracas, Venezuela. This is an area where UFO reports were common and remain so today, but it seems the appearance of the plane out of time brought on more than the usual number. On top of that several airport employees reported having hours of Missing Time after the Flight landed. During, and shortly after the incident was concluded by reboarding the passengers and crew, several farmers reported finding cows, pigs and goats mutilated in a surgical fashion.

All this happened at the same time and overwhelmed everyone in the Caracas, Venezuela airport. The passengers were dressed in 1950s clothing and looked to be mostly 21-35 years old. None had aged. During the roughly 20 hours at the airport one of the airport workers complained that while all the aircraft personnel and passengers from the mystery flight were accounted for, seven airport workers (mostly ground crews) had vanished and not reappeared. After two days three reappeared but had no memory of where they had gone during that time.

All documents related to this case disappeared by 1991 when Pam Am ceased operations and filed for bankruptcy. Many attempts at further verification ended in failure and often brought US and Venezuelan government harassment for unknown reasons. One of the major reasons for believing the story are that it happened in a public place, involved many people and occurred at a time when many felt it was their duty to report, rather than cover-up, such things.
