Time Travel: Possibilities and Proof

Time Travel: Possibilities and Proof

by Bill Knell

I unintentionally became a protagonist for the weird in high school. It started during my first year. I used to bring books to school during my free period. They had a wonderful library, but it didn't serve my interests. I had been reading about UFOs since I was nine. That's when I read my first book about them titled ‘Flying Saucers: Serious Business’. It was written by Frank Edwards; an experienced, well known and respected print and broadcast journalist. He was determined to get to the bottom of the Flying Saucer subject because each day he saw new articles and reports about UFO sightings and encounters.

Edwards took a different path from other journalists. He decided that his inquiry would involve only military sightings and encounters. It was a logical approach because many of those sightings were by pilots and other trained observers. He took the additional step of applying the typical reporter’s three source rule to verify each case. He was surprised enough by the results to become a believer in the idea that Flying Saucers were real, probably of extraterrestrial origin and could be a threat to America's National Security.

Classmates, and even some teachers, saw me reading books like that and began asking me questions about my interest in UFOs. They quickly realized that I was well read on the subject. After a while I decided to hold informal meetings during my free period for those interested in UFOs and the unexplained. I brought in all kinds of magazines and some books to loan out. Eventually, our meetings morphed into a UFO club with the permission of the school.

It didn't take long for the science and astronomy geeks to jump all over me and my information. I didn't care because I knew the truth based on the fact that my dad had been an Air Force Officer and knew pilots that had completely unexplainable encounters with UFOs. I, personally, heard some of their stories when they came over to our house to visit with my father.

In 1948 a twenty-five year old pilot named Thomas Mantell died when his P-51 encountered a UFO causing his aircraft to crash. That was why the Air Force created Project GRUDGE, their first official investigation into UFOs. Although he publically claims to have never seen a UFO, Chuck Yeager (the first pilot to break the sound barrier) had a different story in the 1960s. My family and I attended a Base Barbecue at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. Yeager was the keynote speaker. Some pilots asked him about Flying Saucers. He told a story about seeing a flying disc while testing one of the X planes in 1957. It came right up to his aircraft, then sped away at an incredible speed.

I knew about other unexplained subjects as well and that knowledge got me into some deep discussions and trouble with my science teacher. He, along with some other teachers and students, were diehard skeptics who didn't seem to believe in anything they couldn’t scientifically explain.

As an instructor teaching  high school level science he never dived too deeply into the subject. That changed when he came to one of our meetings where someone asked me about the possibility of Time Travel. I explained that I did not adhere to the theory accepted by most of the Scientific Community. They believe that "time is a straight line". That it is linear, meaning it moves in an irreversible progression from past to future. Time moves forward continuously, and we experience it in a sequential order, without the possibility of going backwards.

My uncle worked for Bell Laboratories at their New Jersey facility. I sometimes visited him with my dad because we lived just outside of New York City which meant it was only about a forty minute drive away. He had an amazing knowledge of science, engineering and electronics. Being what he called a ‘smart kid’ gave me the opportunity to discuss some amazing things with him.

One subject was the possibility of Time Travel. I came to believe that Time was more of a circle based on stories I heard, books I read and discussions with my uncle. If it was a circle, and you had the technology to do so, you would be able to visit the past and future simply by targeting various points in that circle.

After I explained my theory I knew I was in for it when I saw the look on my science teacher's face. That's why I was surprised when he just sat there and left after the meeting was over without saying a word. Instead of being over, my problems had just begun. I was bright enough to know the teacher was not just going to let what I said slide by without a major rebuke and examination of my theory. I went home that afternoon and studied up so I would be ready for what was coming.

Sure enough, the next day he spent a good portion of class time explaining why he KNEW that time was linear. As a kindness, I guess, he gave me fifteen whole minutes to explain and justify my theory. I'm sure he was hoping that I would fall on my theoretical face. I spent a few minutes on the basics of my theory, then told an easily provable story.

I explained how my friend Bruce (he was in the class) and I had recently visited his girlfriend Amy's parents. They were older, having had Amy late in life. Her dad retired from a career in the Navy. He happened to mention being stationed at the Philadelphia Navy Shipyard during the 1940s. I immediately asked him if he had heard about the USS Eldridge? Not only had he heard about it, but he knew one of the temporary crew members stationed aboard the ship.

During the 1940s the Navy had Albert Einstein under contract. They needed a fast way to demagnetize ships at sea against German Mines designed to be attracted to them. They also wanted to make their ships invisible to radar and, possibly, sonar. It's been suggested that Einstein and some of his proteges at the Institute For Advanced Studies came up with a way to do all that and much more. In several tests the Eldridge became visually invisible, briefly disappeared, reappeared in another place, then returned when the on-board equipment was shut down. This suggested, and many believe, the ship travelled through space time in some crazy worm hole fashion.

Amy’s dad told us how his friend from the Eldridge was never the same after the experiments. He claimed to be fading in and out until one day when a buddy talking to him in his quarters said that he just faded away. It's a complicated story, but it did involve the ship eventually traveling briefly to a later time. At the end of my presentation I asked Bruce to verify my story and he did. He even offered to ask Amy's dad to stop in the class and verify what I said was true. The teacher said that wouldn't be necessary.

That was the end of the subject in my science class. I guess you could say we came to a draw. However, that did not end my search for the truth about the Philadelphia Experiment and Time Travel. Use the link below to read my research and findings on the experiment. The information is provable through witnesses and is mind blowing. Unconvinced? Here are some historical and archaeological proofs that might seal the deal and make you into a believer…

Is a LAPTOP being used in ancient times? Note the USB ports on the side (below).

This Greek sculpture was created around 100 B.C. and once adorned  a tomb.

What is a modern looking hammer doing inside a rock formation that is dated to be four hundred million years old? The ‘London Hammer’ was discovered in 1936 by hikers in Texas. It has a wooden handle and an iron head, which is unusual because it hasn’t rusted since its discovery.

Chinese archaeologists discovered an unopened tomb in 2008. Inside was the coffin of Si Qing from the Ming dynasty (about 400 years old) and a mystery in the form of a mud-encrusted Swiss watch ring that was about 100 years old.

Turkic seamstress remains uncovered in Mongolia in 2017 included some footwear with stripes like those on Adidas sneakers. They are dated to 900 A.D.

Salamanca, Spain, cathedral with a sculpture that dates to 1513 and looks like an astronaut. Note the shoes which resemble those worn by Apollo Astronauts on the Moon.

Photo of downtown  Reykjavík in 1943. Soldiers, sailors and civilians are seen. The guy circled appears to be on a cell phone or using an advanced,  hand sized communication device unknown and unavailable at that time.

Middle Ages painting from a cathedral in Italy showing what appears to be an uncanny likeness of Sputnik (first satellite ever launched Into space by the Soviet Union) and a flatscreen TV?

Young man in 1941 Canada wearing modern clothes, modern sunglasses and sporting a modern haircut. I colorized the photo for better detail.

1860 painting of a woman holding a cell phone and walking towards her boyfriend.

Baghdad Battery is a 2,000-year-old electrical device or type of battery consisting of a clay jar, copper cylinder, and iron rod. When filled with an acidic solution it can produce a small electrical current. Its purpose is unclear.

Shoe print fossil discovered in Utah in 1968 that Is five hundred million years old.

The Moberly-Jourdain incident involves two English academics, Charlotte Anne Moberly and Eleanor Jourdain, who claimed to have experienced a time slip while visiting the Petit Trianon gardens at Versailles in 1901. They reported seeing people in 18th-century clothing and described feeling disoriented and as if they had travelled back in time. Some researchers suggest the incident may have involved a "time warp" or a haunting related to the French Revolution. They described seeing various people in what they believed were 18th-century clothing, including a woman sketching, and feeling a sense of unreality and disorientation. Moberly later identified one of the figures as resembling Marie Antoinette, and the experience occurred on the 109th anniversary of the storming of the Tuileries Palace, a significant event in the French Revolution.
